This links page is devoted to all the different types of single handed skiffs I have found . As long as the boat fits the criteria necessary to be called a single handed skiff I will try and include it here with pictures and links if possible .

This is my definition ( not to be confused with that found in dictionaries or suchlike )

singlehandedskiff . N. a small , light, monohulled   boat sailed by one person and which has far too much sail for its own good . It is designed to explore the limits of this form of the sport.

Here is the list in alphabetical order . Just click on the thumbnail to see a larger picture then use your browsers back button to return to this page .

Bucko - no need for a link here , click on Photo Album .
Contender , just scrapes in to the guidelines , an older but still useful design . www.sailingsource.com/contender

Farr 3.7 , as above but still a very lively performer. http://members.nbci.com/Farr37
International Canoe -maybe not a skiff but they've been around a very long time , they have now got a spinnaker and  were very fast anyway . www.intcanoe.org

Moth , this is the most highly developed of these craft , very light , very fast and very tricky to sail . www.moth.asn.au

Musto skiff , the winner of the ISAF single handed trials in 2000 . Hi-tech and expensive . www.mustoskiff.com

MX-Ray , very small but from the pics seems to go well downwind .
Nautivela Vis , participated in the ISAF trials and had a spinnaker added later , modern production type .  www.nautivela.com

PlusPlus , an interesting one off "overgrown Moth" type . Site has lots of very interesting discussion .

RS600 - A single hander with racks and trapeze but no kite .

RS700 Similar to the 600 but with a kite .

There are also many other classes out there whose sailors are responding to the difficulties of finding a reliable and competent crew by going it alone . In Australia the MG and NS classes (both 14 foot boats , MG's have spinnakers , NS's don't ) have a single handed movement within their ranks .  Below is a single handed NS with trapeze owned and built by Glen Reynolds

The Solo Swift is another new entrant on the scene , it has a very different approach to the single handed problem .

The web site is at www.single-handedskiffs.com

Now we have another different approach to the single-handed concept ,  The 4b sailing skiff ,once again with gennaker but adapted to the somewhat chilly waters of British Columbia where she lives .  The site is only a small subsection of a site devoted to environmentally friendly windmill pumps  , well worth a look .
